February 2020: Healthier Heart for a Healthier You

February is Heart Health Month. Did you know that cardiovascular disease remains the #1 Killer in America? Because of this statistic, we want to ensure that each workplace is educated on lifestyle habits to prevent heart attacks and strokes as well as to recognize the signs and symptoms. This month’s Eat Well, Live Well, Be Well Newsletter incorporates a variety of educational components that you can share with your family and friends to have a healthier heart for a healthier you.

Eat Well:

February’s Eat Well recipe features an antioxidant rich Superfood Dark Chocolate Bark. This bark is a healthier alternative to your average piece of chocolate. The recipe is filled with antioxidant rich dark chocolate and gogi berries as well as beneficial fats from chia seeds and almonds. This dessert will balance blood sugar levels and provide you with anti-inflammatory nutrients. Enjoy!

Live Well

In order to live well and be the best version of yourself, you need resources to help you sustain or get you there. Refer to the Heart Health newsletter, poster, flier and wellness challenge this month for the signs and symptoms of heart disease as well as how to prevent this condition:
