Starting a new job is an exciting milestone, but it can also feel overwhelming. Therefore, it's crucial for employers to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, beginning with a well-organized HR onboarding process. Making sure new hires feel welcomed and prepared for their first day is essential. On their first day, employers should take time to review and complete necessary onboarding documents with the new hire, introduce them to the company, and address any questions they may have. These essential onboarding documents not only fulfill legal and administrative requirements but also set the tone for the new employee’s journey within the company. Below are some of the documents required by federal law for employers to collect and review.

1) Offer Letter

  • The offer letter outlines the employment details including job title, salary, start date, benefits, as well as any employment conditions. It ensures both parties are on the same page regarding expectations and responsibilities.
